Abraham Lincoln was one of the first leaders to use technology to communicate during war fare. The TELEGRAPH was used by Lincoln in a “hub” in the White House to send and receive commands to his generals in the South.
This idea that technology could be used to get a clear line of communication to and from the battlefront quicker than the enemy was a key factor in the Union’s victory during the Civil War.
I believe that Lincoln would be using social media if he was President today as he understood the need to use technology to move messages at the speed of light.
Today on Independence Day let’s celebrate the creative use of technology by our chosen leaders that have led to the way we communicate today.
